Vol. 394 No. 3

Written Answers. - Return of Milk Quota.

54.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will reconsider the application for a return to milk quota under the Mulder scheme by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will also consider the eligibility of applicants in similar circumstances for an allocation of a portion of the additional quota agreed at the EC Council of Ministers at meetings of 19 and 20 November 1989.

Under the EC Regulation a producer is not eligible for the allocation of a Mulder quota if his non-marketing period expired before 1 October 1983. In this case the non-marketing period expired before that date and therefore the person named cannot be allocated a quota.

As regards the allocation of the additional 1 per cent quota I have already indicated that I will be making an announcement shortly.
