Vol. 394 No. 4

Written Answers. - Macroom (Cork) Public Lighting.

197.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make an allocation in 1990 to Cork County Council for the provision of a new public lighting scheme on the N22 route through Macroom, County Cork.

I presume that the Deputy is referring to proposals to upgrade the existing public lighting, on the N22 route through Macroom, to traffic route lighting standard. Proposals in this regard were received in the Department from Cork County Council. In June 1989, the Department informed the local authority that the traffic accident data submitted by them did not indicate that a need had been established for traffic route lighting at that location.
