Vol. 394 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry Airport Duty Free Facilities.

80.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will direct the Revenue Commissioners to provide duty free facilities at Kerry County Airport, Farranfore, County Kerry, having regard to the increasing number of passenger traffic in the airport and the projected increase in same for 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, in line with an undertaking given to the management of Kerry County Airport in September of this year, they will be reviewing during this month an application for the provision of duty free facilities at the airport. In this review, the Commissioners will take account of the level of departing passenger traffic at the airport as well as the customs and excise staff resources needed to supervise the facilities.
