asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to improvement works at Scoil Ide Naofa, Kilmeade, Athy, County Kildare, with particular reference to the replacement of the electrical and heating systems and other works in respect of which a grant was approved in September 1988; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that these works have not been carried out; the reason for the delay; the date by which she will have the works undertaken; the full extent of the works to be carried out; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have sanctioned a grant for the complete replacement of the electrical installations and some improvements to the heating system at Scoil Ide Naofa, Kilmeade, County Kildare. Because of the large volume of engineering works on hands my Department have not yet been able to prepare tender documents for the works at this school. These will be prepared early in 1990 to enable the works to be completed during the Easter holidays.
