Vol. 394 No. 6

Written Answers. - Smokeless Fuels Grants.

35.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of houses in Dublin in respect of which grants have been paid to assist in the change-over to smokeless fuels since the Air Pollution Act, 1987, was passed.

The administration of the schemes of financial assistance made under section 45 of the Air Pollution Act, 1987, in respect of special control areas, including approvals, payments, etc., is a matter for Dublin Corporation. I understand from the corporation that 645 grant applications have been received to date and that 194 grants have been paid.
