In November 1989, technical proposals for the improvement of the national secondary road N86 were received in my Department from Kerry County Council. The proposals include the construction of a new river crossing at Blennerville. The proposals are being examined at present and a decision thereon will be issued to the local authority as soon as possible.
Pending the completion of the Department's examination of the proposals and the determination of the 1990 road grant allocations to all local authorities, I am not in a position to say if a road grant will be available next year for this scheme.
