The average weekly earnings of an industrial worker employed in manufacturing in March 1989 were estimated by the Central Statistics Office as £209.70. Employer's PRSI on the same would amount to £25.58 per week. It is not possible to estimate the cost of other overheads as these would depend on the nature of the business in which the employee works.
