Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Numbers.

Frank Crowley

Question:

137 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Finance whether the Revenue Commissioners will issue tax numbers to those who have submitted farm profiles in order to facilitate applications for higher education grants; and whether the delay in issuing tax numbers is causing hardship for applicants.

Inspectors of taxes have instructions to issue tax reference numbers as a matter of priority to those farmers who specifically apply for one and have completed and submitted a farm profile.

The Revenue Commissioners are not aware of any general delay in issuing tax reference numbers to such farmers. Any farmer experiencing delays should contact his inspector of taxes.
