I propose to take Questions Nos. 75, 96, 101, 145, 148 and 152 together.

I have sanctioned during 1989-90 an additional 95 teachers for primary schools in disadvantaged areas and 30 remedial teachers to supplement the existing cadre of some 900 remedial teachers in primary schools. I will be keeping the appointment of further remedial teachers in primary schools under review.

This matter is currently being considered at post-primary level in the context of negotiations being held under the auspices of the Central Review Committee established under the Programme for National Recovery.
