187 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education if she intends to introduce an Education Act which would update the School Attendance Act, 1926; and, if so, if she will take into account the recommendations of the Report of the National Youth Committee (details supplied).

The primary education review body will be addressing issues concerning the structures of primary education in the course of its deliberations. Further consideration of these issues must await receipt and consideration of the review body's report and recommendations.
