Question:

138 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when he intends to introduce legislation or regulations to ban or control the use of inflammable materials for furniture.

The Industrial Research and Standards (Fire Safety) (Domestic Furniture) Order, 1988 (S.I. No. 336 of 1988), which was made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on 14 December 1988, bans and controls the use of inflammable materials in domestic furniture.
