Phil Hogan

Question:

59 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the quantity of bacon imported into the Republic of Ireland from Denmark in (a) 1988 and (b) 1989; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No bacon was imported into this country from Denmark in 1988 while 84 tonnes valued at £206,500 were imported during the first 11 months of 1989. There are no restrictions on such imports from Denmark.
