Vol. 396 No. 1

Written Answers. - European Orientation Programme.

Seán Barrett

Question:

105 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has taken any steps to resume the European Orientation Programme for Irish industry; if so, if he will give details of the number of places there will be for Irish training business persons from Europe this year and in the next three years; if he will give the estimated cost to the State; and the contribution from the private sector.

My Department are actively exploring proposals at present which would enable the European Orientation Programme to be operated at an appropriate level in 1990. Pending the conclusion of this exercise, I am unable to reply to the specific questions as regards numbers of places and financing raised by the Deputy.
