Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

Liam Fitzgerald

Question:

95 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Finance if a full tax free allowance has been granted to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; if full account has been taken of the interest payments referred to when computing his tax liability; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes will review the allowances granted to the taxpayer on receipt of a completed return of income form for 1989-90. The taxpayer should include a claim for interest relief on this form as the inspector has not received any claim for such relief.
