Written Answers. - Dublin Neurologists.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

50 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Health the number of neurologists currently available in public hospitals on (a) the north side of Dublin (b) the south side of Dublin; the equivalent figures for two years ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows: On the north side of Dublin there are two neurologists, with commitments at Beaumont and the Mater Hospitals, one paediatric neurologist, with commitments at Temple Street, the Rotunda and Beaumont Hospitals — and one neurophysiologist with commitments at Beaumont and the Mater Hospitals. On the south side of Dublin there are two neurologists with commitments at St. Vincent's and the federated Dublin voluntary hospitals, one paediatric neurologists, with a major commitment at Crumlin and a minor commitment at Beaumont Hospitals and one paediatric neurologists with commitments at Trinity College, Harcourt Street, Crumlin and the Rotunda Hospitals. The number of neurologists currently available is the same as the number available two years ago.
