Vol. 396 No. 5

Written Answers. - Libyan Students.

Peter Barry

Question:

55 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if Libyan students are free to study in this country.

Yes, subject to certain restrictions. As the Deputy is aware, no visa for a Libyan student to study in this country is issued without the agreement of the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Bona fide applications from Libyan students wishing to come to Ireland and to participate in study or training courses are granted provided the applicant is not otherwise disqualified from entering Ireland.
