158 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the recent level of public concern about the non-availability of custodial facilities for disturbed adolescents, he will make funding available to Erehwon House in County Waterford, details of which have been sent to him on numerous occasions.
I have received representations on a number of occasions concerning funding for Erehwon House. I have replied saying that, given the type of facilities provided in Erehwon House, the question of funding appears to be more appropriate to other State agencies, but adding that, if it was considered that it would be useful to have a meeting with officials of my Department, this could be arranged by contacting the principal probation and welfare officer. To date the officer in question has not been contacted.
