181 Mr. Pattison and Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health if he will ensure that an adequate speech therapy service is provided at the Sacred Heart Unit, Lady Lane, Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The deployment of available staff in the South-Eastern Health Board is a matter for the board having regard to the competing priorities which have to be met.

The South-Eastern Health Board are considering the possibility of providing an additional speech therapy service for people with mental handicap in Waterford, including those attending the Sacred Heart Unit.
