Question:130 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Justice the number of bank robberies which have taken place in the last 12 months; and the number of cases where persons have been charged.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that provisional figures for 1989 indicate that 49 cases of armed aggravated burglary at banks were recorded, and in 13 of these cases charges were preferred.
