Question:4 Mrs. Taylor-Quinn asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received an indication from the European Commission as to the harbours and ports which will be grant aided under the Structural Funds.

Structural Funds for commercial harbours form part of the peripherality programme which covers roads and other transport infrastructure. Structural Funds for fishery harbours form part of the operational programme for rural development. Pending approval of these programmes by the EC Commission I cannot say what funds will be made available to any particular harbour or port.
