Question:176 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Health the projected cost of foreign travel on commercial airlines by him while engaged in EC Presidency duties for the first half of this year.

As neither the full extent of the commitments involving foreign travel which I may have to undertake during the period of the Presidency nor the availability of the Government jet can be determined in advance, I regret that it is not possible to give a projected costing of the use of commercial airlines. The Government jet is and will continue to be used whenever possible.
