Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Noonan

Question:

192 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the circumstances under which a school bus service serving a school (details supplied) in County Limerick was withdrawn; if her attention has been drawn to the difficulty which this has presented in certain families; if she will arrange to have the service restored; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The service referred to in the Deputy's question was withdrawn at the end of the 1988-89 school year as the number of eligible children offering for transport was below the minimum number of ten required to maintain the service. This position has not changed.
