Vol. 397 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sandoz Planning Application.

Toddy O'Sullivan

Question:

45 Mr. T. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make any submission to the public inquiry on the Sandoz planning application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no plans to make a submission to the public inquiry on the Sandoz planning application.

I am already on public record as stating my own and the Government's full support for the project, given the intention that the project will adhere to the highest environmental standards. The inquiry currently taking place will help to establish those standards.

The Industrial Development Authority, which is the agency with responsibility for the day to day administration of industrial policy, has availed of the facility whereby interested parties can make a statement to the public oral hearing.
