130 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if and when he will approve the upgrading of fire station facilities at Athy, County Kildare; if he will outline the extent and cost of the facilities proposed; when work is likely to commence on the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The initiative in formulating proposals for such projects rests with the fire authority. No proposals have been submitted to my Department in this case.
