Vol. 397 No. 6

Written Answers. - Fraud Squad Investigation.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

133 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice if the investigation of the fraud squad into the case of a person (details supplied) in Cork has been completed; when the result of such an investigation will be made available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is the practice of Ministers for Justice not to make statements to the House in relation to specific Garda investigations unless there are circumstances which are deemed to be sufficiently exceptional to warrant a departure from this practice. I do not consider that such a departure is warranted in the case in question.
