Question:

100 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education the reason she has not made a decision on the CDVEC recommendations to have deemed eligible for part-time contract status 11 music teachers at the College of Music Extern Centre, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the failure to make a decision has provoked an industrial dispute; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The unique nature of the Ballyfermot Music Centre necessitated detailed consideration of the CDVEC proposals which were presented to my Department last month.

I am happy to state that the matter has since been resolved and CDVEC have been informed that the teachers in question have been deemed eligible for Class III eligible part-time teacher status.
