Section 4 of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1987, provides for the establishment of a historic monuments council in place of the National Monuments Advisory Council which was governed by earlier legislation. In the light of this, and other developments, the matter of the re-establishment of the National Monuments Advisory Council is under consideration.
