Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - Comprehensive Schools' Management Boards.

Liam Kavanagh

Question:

23 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the progress which has been made in reviewing the boards of management structure in comprehensive schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The position in relation to the boards of management in comprehensive schools is that, in 1988, the question of enlarging the management structure of these schools so as to provide for parent and teacher representation on such boards of management was raised with all the interested parties.

At present all aspects relating to the revision of the management structure of these schools, including the legal aspects, are under examination within the Department.
