Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - Mallow (Cork) Office.

Paul Bradford

Question:

91 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Social Welfare when he intends to appoint a clerical assistant to his office in Mallow, County Cork.

There are two offices of the Department in Mallow. The branch employment office deals with the receipt and payment of unemployment claims and is run by a branch manager under contract. The second office accommodates social welfare officers. It is my Department's policy to progressively provide a more comprehensive service to the public at local level and the provision of clerical assistance at offices such as Mallow is being looked at in this context and will be provided as resources allow.
