Phil Hogan

Question:

44 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the details of his recent announcement regarding the plans he has for decentralisation of a Government Department in County Kilkenny; when this decentralisation proposal will take effect; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I intend to take Questions Nos. 43 and 44 together.

As the House will know, the Government recently announced its decision to extend the decentralisation programme to five additional centres throughout the country. Kilkenny, I am pleased to say, was one of these additional centres.

The actual details of the extended programme are at present under consideration.
