Question:106 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the organisation to which, and the criteria under which, the £30 million allocation from the EC for rural development projects will be distributed.

On 2 May the EC Commission decided on the allocation of £305 million from the Structural Funds reserve to a Community initiative for strengthening rural areas. No decision has been taken yet on the distribution of this amount among member states, the measures to be implemented or the mechanisms for funding those measures.
