134 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a submission from Sligo Corporation in connection with the erection of traffic lights at the junction of Cairns Road and Pearse Road; and, if, in view of the traffic problems resulting from the junction, he will authorise Sligo Corporation to proceed with the provision of the traffic lights.

The provision of traffic lights is a matter for the local authority concerned acting at the request of or with the consent of the Garda Commissioner. Proposals in relation to the provision of traffic lights at the location in question have not been received in my Department.
