Question:

143 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Health if he will outline in respect of himself and his Minister of State (a) the number of special advisers (other than career civil servants) appointed, (b) their names, (c) their remuneration and (d) whether the appointments are on a full or part-time basis.

I have appointed only one special adviser, Mr. Barry Segrave, who is engaged on a contract basis. His annual remuneration is £21,667. My Minister of State has no special advisers.
