167 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education the cost of reducing from 60 years to 59 years the age at which teachers who have a least five years pensionable service may retire.
It is not feasible to give a single realistic estimate of the cost of reducing from 60 years to 59 years the age at which teachers who have at least five years of pensionable service, might retire voluntarily with a pension in view of the many variables involved and the uncertainty as to the number of teachers who would avail of the option.
