Question:159 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Justice the names and career descriptions of members of the new Mountjoy Visiting Committee; and the particular qualifications they have for being visitors.

The names of the members of the new visiting committee for Mountjoy Prison are as follows: Mr. Dermot Kinlen, Mr. Luke Belton, Mr. Frank McDonnell, Mr. Patrick Irwin, Mrs. Bridget Hurley and Mrs. Doris McGowan. These persons satisfy the criteria for eligibility for appointment as a member of a visiting committee, which are stipulated in the Prisons (Visiting Committees) Act, 1925.
It is not the practice to give career descriptions of members of visiting committees and I do not propose to do so.
