Vol. 399 No. 2

Written Answers. - Malahide Castle (Dublin) Project.

Nora Owen

Question:

81 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Finance the moneys which have been made available to Dublin County Council to provide a new car park, helicopter pad, additional street lighting, upgrading of small cottage and general improvements in Malahide Castle and Malahide Demesne, which is to be used for one function during the EC Presidency; and if any special fund from the EC is available to recoup these moneys.

Certain improvement works at Malahide Castle are being undertaken by Dublin County Council and the Office of Public Works. The works being carried out will improve the day to day and long term use of Malahide Castle by the public. The facilities will in the first instance contribute to the EC Presidency arrangements. Full costings of these works have not as yet been finalised.
