Vol. 399 No. 3

Written Answers. - State Leased Properties.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

59 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance if he will list all properties which are leased by the State for use by Government Departments and staff agencies; and in respect of each property if he will outline (a) the length of time the lease has existed, (b) the annual rent, (c) the size of the property, (d) the amount of rent paid to date and (e) with whom the lease is held.

Compilation of the detailed information sought in regard to the length of time property leases entered into by the Minister for Finance or the Commissioners of Public Works have existed, the size of the individual properties and names of landlords would involve an inordinate length of time and staff resources. If the Deputy has any particular property in mind he should let me know and I will endeavour to facilitate him. It is not the practice however to divulge information in regard to specific rents.

Properties leased by other State agencies or Ministers are a matter for the agency or Minister concerned.
