Question:

81 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline (i) the number of cases where a sentence of capital punishment was imposed and (ii) the number of persons actually executed since the foundation of the State.

An examination of records indicates that the required figures are 100 and 35 respectively.
