Vol. 399 No. 7

Written Answers. - Representations to British.

Tony Gregory

Question:

57 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if representations regarding the case of a person (details supplied) have been made to the British authorities; if not, if the matter can be raised through the Anglo-Irish Conference; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that the case to which the Deputy refers is the subject of an appeal to the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal. The Deputy will appreciate that it would be inappropriate for me in the circumstances to intervene in the manner suggested. I have, however, instructed my Department to monitor the case and to keep me informed of developments.
