Vol. 399 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Assembly Hall.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

142 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the application of St. Angela's secondary school, Ursuline Convent, Waterford, for an assembly hall appropriate to the needs of a school of its size: and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The funding of all post-primary building projects is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.

In recent years it has been necessary to commit available resources to the provision of the most urgently needed classroom accommodation. In the circumstances I am not in a position at present to indicate when funds will be available to provide a hall at St. Angela's secondary school, Waterford.
