65 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education her views on the separate phased relocation of the College of Commerce, Rathmines, Dublin 6, and the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin 1, to the new complex at Bishop Street, Dublin 8; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The proposed new development at Bishop Street for the City of Dublin VEC is part of a major ongoing capital development programme aimed at improving facilities for students and staff in the Dublin Institute of Technology.
In establishing priorities it was found necessary to build the Bishop Street project in two phases and, having regard to the serious deficiency in accommodation which exists in the College of Commerce, I have, in consultation with the city of Dublin VEC, decided to address this problem immediately in the first phase.
