Vol. 399 No. 8

Written Answers. - Milk Quota.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

107 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was not awarded a milk quota under the special provision for young farmers, despite the fact that he had the necessary qualifications.

To qualify for an allocation under the young farmers category from the 1 per cent additional quota a producer was required to have as at 1 April, 1989, his own land, herd number and separate milking facilities. The person named did not fulfill these conditions and therefore was ineligible under this measure.
