Vol. 400 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dairy Products Marketing.

Phil Hogan

Question:

75 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he is satisfied with the performance of the National Dairy Council in marketing butter, skimmed milk powder and other associated dairy products; if he considers that a review of their marketing strategy is necessary at this stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The National Dairy Council is an independent organisation representing the dairy sector in Ireland. Part of its funding, however, is sourced from the EC Commission by way of milk coresponsibility levy receipts. Other than acting as an agency for the disbursement of such funds, I have no responsibility for its activities.
