Vol. 400 No. 9

Written Answers. - Hip Replacement Operation.

Tony Gregory

Question:

200 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 will have a hip replacement operation in St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Finglas, Dublin 11; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The admission of a patient to the hospital is primarily a matter for the hospital authority, in this case St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh. I have asked the hospital for a report in this instance and they have indicated that this patient was seen at the out-patients clinic at James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown on 25 June 1990. The patient has now been placed on the waiting list for a hip replacement operation at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital and will be admitted as soon as possible.
