121 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education the number of students who took the Syllabus C mathematics paper in the 1990 intermediate certificate examination; the number of students who took mathematics in the 1990 group certificate examination; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The provisional numbers taking mathematics in the 1990 examinations in question are: intermediate certificate syllabus C — 10,500; and group certificate — 11,000.
