Vol. 401 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cavan Rehabilitation Centre Vacancies.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

94 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the demand for the 15 vacant places in the rehabilitation centre in Cavan and the inability to fill this number, due to lack of funds, he will make the necessary funds available.

It is a matter for the local health board to provide a range of services, including vocational training services, for handicapped persons in its area. A decision as to whether to provide funds for this particular service is for the North-Eastern Health Board to make, in consultation with the Rehabilitation Centre in Cavan, having regard to the board's assessment of the priority need for the various services.
