57 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of (a) allocations of training grants for outstanding sportspersons by her Department during 1989, (b) training grants for outstanding sportspersons as recommended to her Department to date in 1990 and (c) the current composition of the committee which makes recommendations to her as regards the allocation of training grants for outstanding sportspersons.
Details of the allocations of training grants for outstanding sportspersons during 1989 and the current composition of the committee which advises me on the allocation of such grants are set out in a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
The outstanding sportspersons grants committee has forwarded to me its recommendations for the 1990 allocations. I am considering their recommendations at present and I will be announcing details of the allocations shortly.
