Vol. 402 No. 1

Written Answers. - Control of Farmyard Pollution Grant.

William Cotter

Question:

128 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of the number of applications under the anti-pollution grant scheme which have been approved for payment; the delay expected in the payment of these grants and the reason; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

To date some 3,900 grants have been paid totalling over £21 million under the scheme for the control of farmyard pollution.

In general, these grants are paid within two weeks of their certification at the local office of my Department. This is a reasonable period for the processing of certified claims to the payment stage.
