Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

138 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment when it is proposed to make moneys available to Dublin Corporation to carry out refurbishing of Swansnest Court Flats, Kilbarrack, Dublin 13; the reason for the delay in making this grant available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A proposal to carry out works to these dwellings under the Department's remedial works scheme was received on 22 October 1990 and is being examined. A decision will issue as soon as possible.

Frank Crowley

Question:

139 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for the Environment the reason his Department are refusing to pay a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

All the approved works were not completed by 31 May 1990, the final date for doing so. In the circumstances, a grant could not be paid. However the application is now being further considered in the light of additional information recently received; the applicant will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.
