Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

64 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Finance when a certificate of tax free allowance will be granted to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, in the absence of details of the taxpayer's previous employment, a certificate of tax free allowances on a week-one basis (i.e. effective from date of issue) was issued to him on 26 September, 1990. A cumulative tax free allowance certificate was issued to him on 2 November 1990. This certificate is effective from 6 April 1990 and any tax over-deducted will be refunded to him by his employer on the operation therof.
